So we all know by now that the mega-region known as BosWash is the most urban stretch of cities in the entire planet, however out of Philly, DC, Boston, and NYC which is the weakest link when it comes to being urban?

I'd say easily DC. (Edit) Although I will say that Boston is the most detached link when looking at consecutive development.

I think that is a pretty dumb question to ask on CD, calling any of these cities a "weak link" of the corridor is pretty inaccurate. There are many things that each city not named NY have and others don't have in the corridor, but the generalization of calling one an urban "weak link" is very misleading. Each city in the corridor has it's own urban amenities to be enjoyed by the people of that city.

I don't think he/she meant it in a disrespectful way. Besides, just because it isn't a question you would have asked, doesn't make it "dumb".

BosWash is far from the most urban stretch of cities on the planet. Japan alone has large stretches of dense cities. China too. Shenzhen and Hong Kong are right next to each other.

I wouldn't include Shenzhen and HK though, because of the restricted border. Most people can't travel between the two.

This. Pearl River Delta in China has 63 million people in it.

I'll go with DC, but that's not to say it's not a great city.
