You seriously need help with reading bro. Where did he say that? All he said was "if you consider the strip LV DOWNTOWN" which he doesn't consider as Downtown (and neither does anyone with the correct definition would.

Since when was Downtown defined as Casinos and Hotels and an entertainment hub? (Which is all that 4 Mile stretch offers at large) Lol, this thread is such a mess thanks to you.
Dude you are taking this way too seriously.

LOL what's up for debate though?

I can't take some of you serious after this thread. You (nor I or anyone else) can redefine 'Downtown' especially in the context that we always use (financial district, courts, etc). If we are adjusting the definition just to fit Vegas 4 Mile stretch then obviously Vegas isn't a real contender outside of its "center of activity". Which brings us BACK to the question of HOW can Vegas compete as a CITY based off of 4 miles? It doesn't.

No one seems to be posting any statistics (LOL) because they know some of us are right and it's too late to retrace some of the silly comments.

Downtown Las Vegas - Hence isn't on the Strip - I'm not making this stuff up. It's called Google, Try it out sometimes. =)

Nope, not really. It's rather sad though that some people can't seem to read or debate without posting silliness.

I don't have a dog in this fight NY is #1. It's quite comical to see people fail so many times and dig bigger holes for themselves.

I enjoy good debates, I can't help myself

I've see plenty of people include Midtown Manhattan with these downtown discussions, no one really seems to take issue with that though.

As far as nighttime activity I've already explained how Vegas as a city can compete. But go ahead and keep pretending you're an expert on Vegas despite the fact you've never even left the Strip.

It's a lot more vibrant at night than Downtown though. What is the most vibrant then?

Yes it appears that reading comprehension is a problem. I said that 'citywide', Las Vegas is higher than everywhere except NY and LA as far as late night vibrancy.

And that is 100% true.

Downtown in NYC has a different connotation. Everyone considers Midtown part of what would beconsidered 'downtown' in other cities. In fact the bulk of NY's business activity occurs in Midtown not Downtown.

I don't have a problem with people doing that but since some people on this thread want to get all technical about where "downtown" is then it's worth pointing out that Midtown isn't technically downtown. Seems like a bit of a double standard there.

Yes, Midtown is in fact "Mid-town" though it is the #1 CBD in America and like the postman said our "downtown" by regular definitions is an exception (geographically). Las Vegas CBD is not The Strip in the LV Valley though. Is the strip referred to as Downtown? I doubt it. . .

I'm not making this stuff up. . .It's the first sentence. Downtown Las Vegas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No native or anyone familiar with NYC and how it really works consider "Midtown = Downtown" - It's our Central Business district yes, but it is not Downtown. There's a difference. Unlike other cities where the Downtown is also the CBD, that's not how it works here. . .

In my experience DTLA is as vibrant as Hollywood at this point, though perhaps patchier and less continuous. The Sunset Strip, Santa Monica, Old Town Pasadena and KTown are very close to HW in terms of nightlife vibrancy.

And when you take daytime population into consideration, it's DTLA as the top hub and it's not even close.
