Nashville, hands down.

Housing is much cheaper in Nashville than Orlando. Salaries are also more proportional to the COL in Nashville as well. In Orlando, OTOH, housing is on the expensive side and salaries are disproportionately low.

Orlando has more traffic than Nashville, but that's mostly due to the fact that it's one of the most visited tourist destinations in the entire world. Outside of the Southwest Orange County, traffic in the Greater Orlando area is pretty manageable. Although I've only been once, Nashville didn't seem to have any real traffic issues. FWIW, neither place is L.A. or Austin, where traffic has a significant effect on your everyday life.

Orlando is much more transient than Nashville and just about every over city in the U.S., save, perhaps, Las Vegas. FAIAP, Orlando's not a hard place to make friends because just about everyone you meet is from somewhere and in a similar situation as you (i.e., new in town), but it's a hard place to keep friends for that very reason--it's a very "revolving door" city, so to speak. That said, locals are friendlier and more gregarious in Nashville, for sure.
