Wow very impressed with SF bay's numbers, Chicago's numbers are underwhelming to say the least.

The reason it matters is obvious. The bay area is tech and social media headquarters, it was inevitable.

I think its cool that Chicago still has around 180k+ Polish speakers, and still is clearly oriented toward Eastern Europe in a way that SF Bay is not. Except for Russian. That one is a little bit surprising, but there are more recent Russian immigrants in California generally than there are in the Midwest.

I was expecting more German speakers in Chicago given the Midwest's huge German heritage, but most are Americanized now.

I thought the lead for Spanish for CHI was going to be a lot higher given how more of Chicago's Hispanic population is less multi-generational.

I think for the most part, it's what you would expect.

Ok? I wasn't talking about that, just simply pointing out Social Media wasn't "invented" in the Bay Area.

Chicago is being vastly underrated here. It is a larger metro area and IMO a lot cooler than SF.

I don't think that Chicago metro area is cooler than SF metro area but I think Chicago city proper is definitly "cooler" if you will.
