Hard to describe what Noir is. But think of Casablanca which was a Noir classic. Think of dick tracey, dectectives, violence, murder, and mayhem? And you kind of have Noir. In most Noir movies in the 40s and 50s, the setting was generally LA and NY. But I wanted to know which city has a more Noir feel to it. Which city feels more like a gritty and hard edged?

Being that we litterally had a videogame titled LA Noir and most of this buildings in that game are still up...I'm going to say LA. Think of any Noir Movie....even if the setting was in another city, it was most likely filmed in Downtown Los Angeles. Kind of like how Mad Men is set in NY, but they are really in Downtown Los Angeles.
