And NYC! How about, Newton Creek, Brooklyn/Queens. What a stunning view! Swimming not advisable.

I actually came here to vote for San Antonio, but alas, not an option. For a tourist, beyond the Alamo, the Riverwalk *IS* San Antonio.

As a former Pittsburgher I have to say that although The Point and the North Shore of the Allegheny are great riverfront spots, riverfront accessibility could be much better overall -- there is plenty of still undeveloped riverfront space and former industrial sites that still block access.

Poll Fail.

Frankly, they are arguably the two best riverfronts.

San Antonio...? The Riverwalk is a sunken ped mall. As touristy as it is, it's really really cool.

I don't know much about Portland's riverfront but it's doing very well in the poll. What's special about Portland (genuinely asking)?

I thought about including San Antonio. But, while it's riverwalk is quite famous, it's is pretty much just a tourist trap. Disneyland has a more impressive Riverfront.

But I didn't even think to include Chicago. Sure, the Chicago river is pretty at night downtown, but it's otherwise an industrial wasteland. Besides the architectural tour you can't do anything in it. It doesn't host any festivals. And the Chicago Riverwalk is only a half mile long.

Their riverfront is actually pretty nice and nifty. The Waterfront Park is huge, I think it's something like 40ish acres along the river. So there's lots of recreational use, it's bustling with people walking about and biking, etc. My husband's family live in the area, and they always go to the Waterfront, and let the little ones play in the fountains. The landscape is lovely, I especially like the Japanese Cherry Blossoms. It also play host to many festivals like music, beers, LGBT, for example. Plus the Saturday Market is there and there's lots of great food around. Portland Saturday Market

I don't know how it ranks against the other cities, but it should definitely be up there as one of the tops.
