I've been to the Verizon Center in DC and it's urban, but IMO the amount of stuff around Wrigley Field and I mean RIGHT around it is even more. It's basically plopped right into the middle of a neighborhood. They're about to add more stuff too so the small lot you see in the picture will be no longer in a year or two along with other stuff being even more.
Is this a joke? You think the area around Wrigley Field is more urban than Gallery Place in D.C.? How many places in all of Chicago are more urban than Gallery Place in D.C.? Gallery Place doesn't even have grass. You must be talking about a different area. Wrigley Field would need to be in the Loop downtown Chicago to be at the level of the Verizon Center in D.C. It's in downtown D.C. Are you sure you have been to the Verizon Center before?

As much as it pains me to agree with MD (lol just kidding), I honestly don't see how anyone can think Wrigleyville is just as and especially more urban than the area around VZ Center. I'd much rather hang out in Wrigleyville but it's a farther out neighborhood that is not as intensely urban as Gallery Place, which is pretty much in the middle of DC.
You're right I'm not LOL, but I try to be fair and give credit where its due and I just don't see how this debate is even happening. I like Wrigleyville more but Gallery Place is easily more urban and better integrated into the urban fabric of DC.

I don't think you are talking about the same area as me. I'm talking about Gallery Place/Penn Quarter Have you been to this place below?
The area around Verizon Center is more urban though, its literally right in the middle of the city. Wrigley is a little bit out there in a lower density neighborhood. Wrigley has a suburban style MacDonald's and Taco Bell across the street with drive-thru's lol.

You can clearly see that the area around Wrigley Field is denser. Not to mention that it's even denser in the surrounding areas. Like the census tract right south of the main Wrigleyville drag has a density of over 36,000 per sq mi.
Yes, many times. I actually have friends in DC and visit them often. I know the city and while it's urban, the area around Wrigley Field is even moreso. Anybody who's been to Wrigley Field and doesn't think that's right in the middle of the city and is very urban is blind as hell.

I have been to both areas. Nobody was talking about population density, at least not me. Being more urban doesn't necessarily mean having a higher population density. STRUCTURALLY, the area around VZ Center is much more dense and urban, not with residents as I'd imagine a lot of those building are filled with workers and what not. So I guess if you plopped down the United Center in the middle of the loop Wrigleyville would still be urban correct?
So please explain what is so urban and dense about a drive thru MacDonald's and Taco Bell literally across the street from Wrigley Field? lol
