Which is the better city to live in?

Consider the following..

Cost of living
Crime (which is safer?)
Metro/Surburbs and distance to nearby cities
Outdoor friendly
Things to do (water parks-amusement parks etc)
Job market
Raising a family in the area
Eating (reaturaunts, grocery stores, local eateries etc)
Amenities (malls, shopping, etc)
Public transportation
Local economy
Among other things.

Austin for the people (at least until the past decade) and weather. At least when its hot you can have sunshine. Taxes, go to Austin. Outdoor friendly is a push, IMO. Portland has better nature within an hour's drive by far, but Austin as great amenities within the city itself.
