A retentiveness applied to cartography.

I don't know where you went to school, but they taught you about the regions way wrong. Way wrong.

Well first you say that everything that you consider "Northeast" is east of the Mississippi River, and then you say Minnesota is excluded in that. Yet, much of Minnesota, including St. Paul and part of Minneapolis, are east of the Mississippi. That makes St. Paul and Northeast Minneapolis part of the Northeast by your criteria.

This is ridiculous. The northeast has a fight WITHOUT adding midwestern states and the southeast has a fight without having to add Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Let's leave them for what they really are and not add places that obviously don't belong!

I made a mistake when I was talking about the Northeast. I meant to say Mississippi River and Wisconsin/Minnesota border as the boundary between the Northeast US and North Central US. Minnesota is a North Central State not Northeastern.

Basically, anything east of the Mississippi River and north of the Ohio and Potomac Rivers for the Northeast and anything south of the Mississippi River and south of the Ohio and Potomac Rivers for the Southeast.

The Northeast is home to the Great Lakes, New York, Chicago, Boston/Providence, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore/Washington, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Cincinnati, Columbus OH, Cleveland, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Springfield IL, and Milwaukee.

The Southeast is home to the Gulf Coast, Charlotte, Raleigh, Richmond VA, Memphis, Nashville, Hampton Roads, Louisville, Birmingham, Mobile, Jackson MS, Jacksonville, Savannah, Atlanta, Miami, Chattanooga, Tampa Bay, Wilmington NC, Orlando and San Juan.

Which region is more better? Northeast or Southeast?

The Northeast + the Midwest = the North. The Midwest is not the Northeast.
