The Midwest is a sub-region of the Northeast also known as the Great Lakes States.

Dude, this is as wrong as two left shoes. Where are you getting this from?

The Midwest is NOT a subregion of the Northeast, and not all of the Midwest is part of the Great Lakes region.

My head hurts when Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana are not included in the Northeast. The Southeast usually has the correct states and the region has the right area.

Show me one reputable source that includes those states in the Northeast.

The Northeast is better than the South East! I don't care about PR , if NY is there it means that region is the best

There are enough sources for those states to be included in the Northeast:

There are countless other sources that have the Great Lakes States as part of the Northeast.

The Midwest isn't part of the Northeast at all; it's as simple as that.
