well each of the cities posted have nice architecture (North american architecture overall is better than anywhere else imo). but i think Chicago takes the crown. even today you see Chicago architects and influence in other cities around the world. for example a Chicago architect contributed to the design of the Burj Kahlifa.
sorry but this picture isnt appealing at all to me. it is cool to look at, but there is not alot of color layers and seperation. its just a mish mash of grey, black, tan, and brown. sorry but its not my favourite. i like an organized skyline, but not to orderly, a little bit of urban chaos displayed in a skyline is good, but that's just me
Residential:
1. New Orleans: beautiful mansions along the main streets like St. Charles, homey shotguns and cottages on the side streets, and the great French and Spanish style townhouses down in the Quarter.
2. Baltimore
3. Philly
4. DC
For me it's a handful of cities and IMO the ones that do diversification the best are:
Los Angeles
Chicago
NYC
Outside of that, ones like Philadelphia, Boston, DC, New Orleans, San Francisco, etc are great too. I like some of what Miami has done too. NYC is interesting though because I haven't seen a ton of really really cutting edge modernist stuff in Manhattan itself. There's some, but the modern towers are fairly restrained on average. I've seen more modernist stuff in areas like Williamsburg (Brooklyn) for sure though.
