And Congrats to Georgia--10 Million!

Quote:
Another milestone took place in Georgia
(ranked 8th), which saw its population
surpass 10 million for the first time.

North Dakota was the nation’s fastest-growing state over the last year. Its
population increased 2.2 percent, followed
by the 1.7 percent growth in Nevada and
Texas. Each of the 10 fastest-growing
states was in the South or West with the
exception of North Dakota.

Six states lost population between July 1,
2013, and July 1, 2014: Illinois (9,972 or -0.08 percent), West Virginia (3,269 or -0.18
percent), Connecticut (2,664 or -0.07
percent), New Mexico (1,323 or -0.06
percent, Alaska (527 or -0.07 percent) and
Vermont (293 or -0.05 percent).

Great news for both Florida and Georgia. Not shocking to see New York get passed by Florida.

Nevada gets a huge chunk of it's growth due to people moving out of California.

California is taxing itself to the brink of collapse. I have had several friends move because of that.

Not really. Overall, these are actually very good economic times for California. Jobs are being created at a healthy rate, the state govt has a budget surplus, the state's debt is in control and actually the healthiest among the world's 10 largest GDPs, crime is on the decline, school test scores are much improved, etc.

California adds 90,100 jobs in November - LA Times

Is there room for improvement? Of course, but name a perfect place?

Sure, but California's population has NEVER sustained a year-over-year decline in population-Ever.

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy... But when your COL is as high as it is, people start looking for alternatives.
Check out what the average price of a home in San Fran and San Diego costs.

We live in an economic system determined by the free market. Would you like the state to take dictate housing prices?

Yes, that's supply and demand in one of the most desirable areas of the world.
