I know ... but NC is the lesser of the evils from what I've seen in the news.

I would say NC & SC &TN are similar as far as Business opportunities, demographics/population, metros(Charlotte/Greensboro-Winston-Salem/Raleigh-Durham vs Charleston/Columbia/Greenville-Spartanburgh vs Knoxville/Nashville/Memphis). All states have beautiful cities, blue ridge/smokey mountains, lakes, & rivers, but Carolina has the Atlantic Ocean & awesome beaches which Tennessee will never have being land-locked. If you do not like sand, saltwater, seafood, & sun then you might not be human!

I still can't believe TN is that less populated than NC, always expected TN to be much closer like on Virginia's level but I'm completely wrong.

It would be if Memphis were more progressive like Nashville.

Rivers and the like are nice but there is nothing equivalent or quite like being on the coast or the exposure to the ocean that is an area Tennessee great as it is takes an L.

This is true but I get the feeling what's happening in NC is unique although the Atlanta area is probably similar especially with it being so many people from the Northeast can't tell you how many people from NYC and elsewhere other NY cities,Boston etc I've seen down here....As far as Southern roots I think it depends where you go I have alot of family in the Triad area and its still for the most part very Southern and I love that.

Yeah, but if you live in, say Nashville, you have a straight shot to the Florida Panhandle beaches, which are the most beautiful beaches in Florida.
