I forgot that I've been on CD going on 5 years now. When I first joined, Atlanta was the most hated.

I guess Atlanta has what it takes to be hated here, a sprawly city in the south that "got too big for her britches".

But Atlanta (and I lived here too)

1)Is the greenest major city I ever lived in or have seen. Seattle or Portland eat your heart out.
2)Does have PT that covers the Atlanta city limits in a +. Can be expanded but it's a start.
3)People are very fashionable and in shape and beautiful. I was expecting fat southerners, lolling on their front porches.
4)Nightclubs are very good, albeit spread out.

I would say Houston, maybe Phoenix. I've never noticed as much for Dallas and not for Miami.

Claiming Houston is a sprawl fest is not hate, it's the truth.

Claiming Houston nightlife is weak, is not hate, it's the truth.

Now claiming Houston isn't diverse, has bad restaurants, that is just ignorant and unjustified.

But I don't see Houston being hated on really, who bashes the people in Houston like they do in Miami? If you look at this poll, it seems a lot of people like Houston more than the other options. Otherwise they wouldn't vote for it, Miami is posed to lose yet again
That reminds me of when Dwight Howard bailed the Lakers in favor of the Rockets, Shaq basically told him to enjoy being the big fish in a small pond.

It's the fourth-largest city (proper) in the country, and it's the (I think) sixth largest metro, but it doesn't get nearly the respect it should command for a city of its size.

That's because Houston doesn't do anything to promote itself. I guess that's why C-D Houston boosters are always on here trying so hard to promote the hell out of it.

Atlanta was definitely heavily hated on C-D about 5 years ago, but I think since Dallas, Houston, and Austin have become so hot in the last 5 years or so, the hate has kind of shifted to Texas in general.

lol the OP is not getting the answer he / she is looking for and is responding to every other post with how wrong it is... sad really.

Anyways - I only read the CvC forum and only occasionally, but from my own experience here I would say MIA is slightly overrated (the OP doesn't help much to rectify this either). I would say PHX is slightly underrated because it is hardly discussed here. The two Texas cities are more polarizing than they are either underrated or overrated imo (I like Dallas/FW and don't care for Houston as much).

Agreed...I picked Houston as well. Give it a couple years and I would put Austin in there as well, I've seen a lot of undeserved negatives about ATX on C-D lately. I guess its the backlash from all the Forbes' lists.
