I have never been to either of these two cities and I am curious how these two cities compare to each other. I would appreciate any opinions that any of you might have regarding these two cities. Below I have listed a bunch of criteria to help you compare these two cities for me. Thanks!

Which has the better weather?
Which has the friendlier people?
Which is more scenic and pretty?
Which has more to do?
Which feels bigger?
Which has the better economy?
Which has the better location?
Which has the better airport?
Which has the better shopping?
Which has the better restaurants?
Which has the better bar scene?
Which is more hipster?
Which is more blue-collar?
Which has the more down-to-earth people?
Which has the better access to beautiful nature?
Which is better for a sports fan?
Which has better/worse traffic?
Which has better public transportation?
Which is more flat or has more hills?
Which is more lush and green with pretty trees?
Which has the better looking skyline and architecture?
Which has the better waterfront and better access to water?
Which is better for boating?
Which has more young people or people in their 20's?
Which has more transplants?
Which has more people who were actually born and raised there?

Lived in both.

Which has the better weather? - Tie. Buffalo has slightly warmer summers and slightly lower humidity I believe.
Which has the friendlier people? - Buffalo.
Which is more scenic and pretty? - Portland
Which has more to do? - Buffalo
Which feels bigger? - Buffalo by far
Which has the better economy? - Portland
Which has the better location? - Portland
Which has the better airport? - Never been in Portland's
Which has the better shopping? - No clue
Which has the better restaurants? - Buffalo
Which has the better bar scene? - Buffalo by far. By light years actually.
Which is more hipster? - Portland by far
Which is more blue-collar? - Buffalo
Which has the more down-to-earth people? - Buffalo
Which has the better access to beautiful nature? - Portland
Which is better for a sports fan? - Buffalo by far
Which has better/worse traffic? - Neither have a lot of traffic
Which has better public transportation? - Don't know. I always drive. Buffalo has a small subway. Portland's public transport would be much safer though.
Which is more flat or has more hills? - Portland is hillier in the city. Buffalo is much hillier than Portland in the suburbs.
Which is more lush and green with pretty trees? - Portland
Which has the better looking skyline and architecture? - Buffalo
Which has the better waterfront and better access to water? - Portland
Which is better for boating? - People will generally say Portland but I prefer fresh water. Better for the boat and no salt in your mouth.
Which has more young people or people in their 20's? - Buffalo has 2-3 major universities and a lower median age.
Which has more transplants? - Portland
Which has more people who were actually born and raised there? -Buffalo
