Hahaha poor SDPMiami/ J R. Soooo desparate to make everyone think that a vacation house is more important than a promary residence.

No seriously. He really wants us to believe that.

haha yes, I'm constantly nervous and worried about the companies I'm working with. You guys are lucky. Perpetual vacay mode must be awesome, although now that I think about it, Im pretty sure it would get boring.

I guess most of Miami's vacation home owners feel the same way...hence they dont really live there.

A more sober poster at the moment; even more sober enough to know that the Bay area shreds Miami in wealth and truly high end real estate. I have absolutely zero agenda or dog in this fight, just saying "seriously" Miami over SF. in terms of high dollar real estate?.. you are seriously grasping at straws.. The Bay area is forcefully a bigger wealth player in terms of desirability, wealth and uniform high price per square real estate. Miami is great but you are hallucinating if you think it's on the level with The Bay ultimate high end.

the most ironic part of this is that vs the Bay Area, Miami is actually not wealthy, in fact its poor.

Except it's the other way around, check the OP. Naples can stack several Bay Area counties together. Naples! That's not even Miami.

I don't get why you think I want your opinion? Why don't you instead tell me why the list the OP posted is wrong or incomplete.

MontClair, I don't think I asked you for room service, for you to bring me a drink, or to pull my car to my front door so why are you still bothering me with useless statistics? Address the results in the OP. I don't care about middle class houses.

hahaha but that's just it. The median home( theoretically for the middle class)in SF is $1.1 Million while the median "middle class" house price for Miami is only $260,000.

In actuality, Miami is a city were largely third world rich people snap up an expensive vacation house that clings desparately to a narrow sliver of coastline. a few feet( literally) inland and it goes from one extreme seemingly to the other, ugh.

On the flipside, virtually every region of the Bay Area has huge swaths of desirable and affluent areas.

I suppose that's another major difference between a vacation house and a primary residence.

The end.

No amount of feverishly shuffling through the American Community Survey for data to side track the topic at hand will make the above sales disappear. Nor will that make the Bay Area appear. The fact that you keep introducing irrelevant information into this thread reeks of desperation.

Sav858 seems to be the only Bay Area poster on this board who understands that the Bay Area does not generally appeal to the super-rich global, outside of the tech community. It just doesn't. They generally like the best and don't settle for inferior/secondary/unglamorous cities. Kick and scream all you want, but if they did, it would be on the above list.

Someone gorgeous, fabulous and fashionable like Dasha Zhukova would cry her Dior eyeliner out if you dropped her on the streets ewwww tacky and unfashionable streets of San Francisco and would be on the next jet to ... you know.. one of those cities on that most trafficked private jet map. Want me to post it again? hahahahhaha.

haha yes, those Miami sales are of very expensive vacation houses, already acknowledged that. Miami's strength is vacations/ holidays, and third world oligarchs are parking their money in stable US real estate.

But 3 vacation.homes on a list dont really impress me. Sorry.

My commute to work takes me on a freeway corridor( 280) that is home to more billionaires than the entire state of Florida and 3 residences whose cost to build or buy topped 9-digits, and like 100,000 millionaires.

After that, Miami, while fun, is really just that-a diversion.

Actually no.

I would bet that there are more billionaires on any given day in Miami than the Bay Area. I see them all the time at the Breakers in Palm Beach or at Fisher Island's Club. The ones of the Russian, European, South American variety.
