Anyhow, with the updates on 2015 populations for PCSAs being less than 2 months away, I wanted to take this chance to get my prediction in!
This is the table with the populations of MSAs last year (2014). I'll make a few guesses on which cities will either 1) achieve new milestones (cross a new million mark line) or 2) surpass another city. Or both, if it applies to the same city.

Guesses for 2015 results:
1. Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex MSA is poised to surpass 7 million easily when the data is released it will show that.
2. Washington D.C. MSA will surpass a city to get to 6th largest in the United States.
3. Miami/Fort Lauderdale MSA (Southeast Florida) will surpass 6 million people and move 1 year away from surpassing the same city Washington DC will surpass in 2015.
4. Denver MSA will move from being ranked 21st to being ranked 19th, surpassing both Baltimore MSA and Saint Louis MSA in 2015 when the numbers are released in 2 months.
5. Pittsburgh MSA will move down from 23rd to 26th, being surpassed by Portland MSA, San Antonio MSA, and Orlando MSA. All three, it appears.
6. Las Vegas MSA will move from 30th to 29th, surpassing Kansas City MSA.
7. Austin, Columbus, and maybe San Jose MSAs will all surpass 2 million people, Indianapolis will get close to doing so as well. Austin will surpass San Jose MSA and Indianapolis MSA to move from 35th to 33rd.
8. Oklahoma City MSA could potentially surpass the Memphis MSA.
9. The Raleigh MSA will surpass Louisville, Richmond, and New Orleans MSAs, moving from 46th to 43rd largest.

Guesses for 2015 results:
9. The Raleigh MSA will surpass Louisville, Richmond, and New Orleans MSAs, moving from 46th to 43rd largest.
Raleigh will likely pass New Orleans & Richmond with the next estimate but it is probably another year away from passing Louisville based on the most recent growth estimates. Either Raleigh would have had to accelerate its growth from 2014 to 2015 or Louisville would have to completely stagnate for it to happen in the next estimate.
