The spurs used to play in the alamo dome before they built the at&t center.the Alamo dome holds collage kickoff season and bowl games today. So no its was not a bad move. Also when Katrina happened the saints used the Alamo dome as their temporary home. The Alamo dome was a good move. Big High school playoff games are played there as well.

Greenville is not a hipster mecca. There may be hipsters as there are in any city its size but Greenville's identity is an economic mecca.
