Hipster = a young-ish person who has allowed current socio-political trends to completely envelop and repurpose their world view and inherent disposition, while also allowing current culture fads and jones' to repurpose their exteriors.

In short, the most homogenous bunch of completely mindless lemmings who embody the very anti-thesis of a true "free-thinker." Their minds are in effect wards of the State and their behavior is influenced and subsequently controlled by whatever "progressive" cause said State deems necessary.

Political psy-ops have evolved and reached such a heightened crescendo that these newer generations we call hipsters are essentially the successful outcome of the government's efforts to control the thought process of the populace.

Older folks are a bit wiser than these kids nowadays. We are not so easily brainwashed.

But there is a lot of new construction in Chattanooga and hipsters like gritty. Maybe Birmingham is a better choice.
Nooga is still pretty gritty

Hipsters like a happening downtown area and Nooga has a better downtown than B'ham.

Of these choices, I'd go with Birmingham although I think it's probably trending more yuppie than hipster right now due to all the massive investment happening downtown which includes both redevelopement of historic properties and new construction. Chattanooga is further along in its downtown redevelopment and doesn't really have a noticeable hipster element; it seems to attract families more than anything, particularly near the river where most new development has been concentrated including family-friendly attractions like the aquarium and minor league ballpark.
