Miami is part of the South region, though it's on the Eastcoast of the map it's part of the South region.
And i never even viewed the poll results due to this being the Internet where trolls rule the cyber world lol, In real life you & i know there's no city that has Entertainment like the Entertainment capitals of Los Angeles & Vegas
Miami has a global reputation for nightlife equivalent to that of Vegas if not even better. You can look at the tourism both gets.
And the OP clearly asked which one of these two regions but included Miami with the New York region cause no other city in the East has Entertainment lol
The only thing going for the East is N.y.c ,D.c & Philly,
Out West we have multiple world class cities & tropical locations like Hawaii & Catalina island, Than of course L.A,San Francisco & Vegas are hard to beat on a region level but the South is also hard to beat with the cities they have also.

That is one of the assumptions on which this is based. Another is you can't fly that magic jet to Miami from Los Angeles. You can only fly it to Las Vegas, for some reason. It's not a dumb at all.

Specifically, you conjured this up without any appreciation of the proximity of LA to LV and what that means in the lives of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of actual humans beings who make that trek on a semi-regular basis, spontaneously and affordably. You get called on this, so you assume...a lear frigging jet.
Miami is 1000 miles further away. Las Vegas is not on any coast. Los Angeles is not in same region as Vancouver. Nobody here has a Gulf-Stream.
