My brother and I are in our early 30's and are considering making a move from San Diego to either Boise or Fort Collins. We grew up in San Diego and have spent a little bit of time in both the Boise and Fort Collins areas. We like both, but want to make our final decision and need some input based on the following:

1) Quality of life. We are interested in a slower pace of life with less of a rat race.

2) Access to outdoor activities like fly fishing, white water kayaking, skiing, hunting, etc.

3) The small business environment? We are thinking about starting a business.

4) Weather. We don't mind variation but don't want terrible, gloomy winters.

5) Bonus Question. Has anyone moved from San Diego to Boise or Fort Collins? If so, how has it been?

SO OVERALL, which would you choose and why?

Any input that can be offered would be very much appreciated! Thanks.
