And avoid the South...especially urban areas. And live in affluent counties with a high COL.

I'll never understand why some choose to be born and grow up where they do.

And why do so many choose to be born into poverty? It's crazy!

FWIW, I always describe my small, working-class, economically depressed hometown in Rhode Island as a great place to be from.

Who cares about your income at age 26? If you are a laborer/lower skilled employee you would have a high income at 26, if you are studying to be a doctor you'd have 0 income. Marrying your cousin at 16 also helps these stats.

Yeah 26 is a little random. At 26 I was still fairly entry level out of college and probably making $50K a year. I'm over six figures now at 35 since I was able to move into those next career brackets.

I feel like your 30's is where people really pull one way or the other.

I mean you could only be making $40K to $50K in your 20's doing tons of different things, but a lot of those jobs would top out and you're still stuck in the $40K's as the decades advance, while others shoot from the $40Ks right up into the $100Ks as you move into your 30's and 40's.
