I agree that those 3 have worse traffic than Austin, especially L.A., I find that Austin's traffic is the most frustrating. With only 1 true freeway and no loops, getting through DT is a real b##ch during rush hours. And its only a span of <10 miles!
At least Seattle, SF and LA have good public transportation, and are currently expanding it.

Mostly because they are bigger/denser cities.

I live in Seattle, lived in SoCal, spent time in Austin. I can live anywhere, I chose Seattle.
