If income wasn't an issue or if given a choice to live in either San Francisco or Pittsburgh with a seven-figure salary, which city would you prefer to live in? Why?

I'm going with Pittsburgh for several reasons. Its in the eastern U.S., but close to the midwest, lacks earthquakes and hurricanes, and it's laid-back and friendly.

A seven figure income!!! What are you kidding? I'd have a house in each city but I'd be traveling so much, I wouldn't spend much time at home.

San Francisco, hands down. I LOVE San Francisco.....it's a beautiful city with a vibrant feel/ambiance, awesome setting surrounded by water....fog rolling in, the Golden Gate Bridge, amazingly diverse city, and my old stomping grounds.

I miss it!

So the question translates "Would you rather own a house in Pittsburgh and have money to spend, or live in a studio in San Francisco and have a low to moderate leftover spending?"

With a seven-figure income, I'd do San Francisco.

Pittsburgh is nice, but SF is so much more eclectic.

With a 7 figure "salary," as the OP said, you could live quite comfortably in San Francisco.
