I just returned from Austin, TX, the last time I visited was 2004 and the skyline has dramatically changed since then. So my vote goes for Austin, but what city will you say?

I've never been to Bellevue, WA but from my understanding it didn't even have a skyline until recently, so I guess it would be number one.

Bellevue has had high rises since the 80's. Added substantially more in the 90's. The high rises have doubled in numbers over the last 10 years as it started trending more towards residential high rises.

New Orleans. The years after 2005 have been substantial and would be even more improved if not for the current recession.

Austin, OKC, Charlotte, Omaha are big changers I think of. Some on the list are bigger changers than others obviously, but those are the main cites I think of really flipping their respective scripts since the turn of the millennium.

I would say Miami. 18 of the 20 tallest buildings were completed in the past decade.

It doesn't have to be skyline change does it??

Philadelphia has changed a ton since 2000. It was a nearly dead city like Detroit in 2000 and a good majority of the city was a ghetto. Things have changed drastically and the city has accomplished probably the best urban renewal plan in recent history.

With that said and out of the way, my vote would probably go to DC. Man has DC seen a lot of construction and changes. It really is a completely different city especially for one that saw murder rates of over 80 per 100k not too long ago.

I know over last 20 years Philadelphia skyline has changed dramatically, people on various sites said that buildings weren't allowed to be taller than City-Hall for decades up until the late 80's early 90's. And I can agree that Charlotte skyline has changed rather quickly, and I absolutely love the high-rises that have been built. OKC skyline has changed mostly because of the Devon Energy Tower, right?

DC to me probably has had the most significant change on the whole

NYC from afar has had two dramatic changes over this time

No offense to Detroit, as that city gets hammered non-stop, but Philadelphia, overall, has never been as worse off as that city. I still do agree that Philly has definitely come a long way in 10 years, but I would actually rate DC as having been more transformed (at least in terms of non Sun Belt cities). The revitalization/gentrification in that city has been astronomical over the past decade.
