The MLS is considering the addition of 4 more franchises by 2020. It has a long host of options to where they can expand to. Which four make the most compelling case for the MLS team?
Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa, Minneapolis, Detroit, Saint Louis, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, Sacramento, San Antonio, Phoenix, Ottawa, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, so on.
san antonio has already shown it has the fan base...it minor league team has good attenane.. it statduim can be can be converted from 8000 to 18000.. it location to close to Houston gives them a instant rival
Rochester NY would be a good choice due to building a pretty recent soccer stadium and it can expand from its current capacity. They have men's and women's pro teams and has a good scene. Actually, the leading scorer in US Women's Soccer, Abby Wambach, is from the Rochester area.
Orlando and Miami are already assumed to have 2 of the 4 slots wrapped up. Orlando City has an incredible established fanbase already, plus Orlando city council voted to approve funding for a soccer specific stadium.
Miami with the backing of the David Beckham ownership team is also pretty much a wrap.
The final 2 are more tricky. I think San Antonio would jump to the front of the line because of their NASL teams success and great stadium. 4th would probably be a toss up between Atlanta, Detroit, Sacramento and Minneapolis. Personally I would love to see a team in Detroit, I think it would be great for the city.
Edit: From reading a bit more, it seems like ATL has pretty much wrapped up the 3rd spot. So Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and SA would be my revised pick.

maimi is locked the city is banking on beckham m star power named.. orlando has been in heavy talk just last week approvel funding for statdium
i dont think they would have done that unless they were r theyeasonable sure they would be reward a team
the mls had made no secert of their desire to break into atl market and it looks like a vote for a new statduim would pass
so really only one spot left

New Orleans is a great sports city but don't you think 3 major league teams would be too much for the New Orleans sports market?
