Oh I thought this was just for big movies...I've never heard of some of the ones listed. Also, from the OP the movie should display the city prominently - not just simply be set there. Correct? Like the Cleveland list above, some of which seems to be movies where the city is an integral part of the film but not others.

Though it wasn't necessarily a main character, Boston was showcased pretty well in the War of the Worlds remake.

Yeah; it would have been cool if the movie were actually set in the places it was filmed, mainly the Lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia.

Based on the movies that you listed; I presume that it is the latter. If the thread title is the criteria. Who are the important characters in Boyz in the Hood, etc.? I loved the movie. However, Doughboy would hardly be considered important.
