Seattle for me. I'm ok with the often-overcast and drizzly cool weather. Denver is one fine city, too - just too sunny for my fair skin.

San Francisco or Los Angeles? [that should light up the old switchboard]

Seattle and Denver were not even options in my post
L.A. because I prefer SoCal to NorCal.

Sedona,Arizona or Telluride,CO?
Sedona, AZ

Both are in scenic areas. Prefer Sedona to live; Telluride to visit. Sedona is closer to larger cities: 115 miles to Phoenix & just 30 miles to Flagstaff. Telluride is more remote: 330 miles to Denver & 300 miles to Colorado Springs. Easier to make visits back to California from Sedona. Have a few relatives about 200 miles from Sedona; one friend about 300 miles from Telluride.

Ruidoso, NM or St.John, IN ?

St. John. On the fringe of Chicagoland and in a nice, family-friendly area of NW Indiana. Ruidoso is too small and isolated for my tastes but seems like a nice place to visit.

Decatur, IL or Springfield, OH?

Decatur, IL or Springfield, OH?
Decatur, which still has a viable economy. Springfield is the poster child for Rust Belt decline, consistently hemorrhaging population since 1970.

Nashville, TN or Austin, TX?

Nashville. Just more interesting to me.

Houston TX or Miami FL?

Miami because it my favorite city in the United States, by far. That being said, Houston is a pretty good city as well. Love its museums and food scene, enjoy its culture as well, the people are terrific. Both Houston and Miami are cool cities in my book though (as are Austin and Nashville).

Sedona, AZ or Ashland, OR
