Bloomington, IN or Chattanooga, TN?

Bloomington. Born and raised there, and thought about going back there to retire. Gotten a little too big over the past few decades, but still nice. Except Camp Wampehani is now mostly an apartment complex; so sad.

Grand Marais, MN or Coeur d'Alene, ID?

Coeur d'Alene. More populated region. Better weather.

Bowling Green, OH or Bowling Green, KY?

Bowling Green, KY because Western KY University is there and they have a renowned graduate program in Folklore.

Erie, PA or Buffalo, NY?

Erie, PA or Buffalo, NY?
Easily Buffalo. I grew up in Buffalo and lived for a brief time in Erie. Buffalo has a lot more going for it and the urban revitalization happening there is pretty impressive.

Jacksonville, FL or Orlando, FL?

Jacksonville, FL or Orlando, FL?
Orlando. Both have their merits. Orlando has more of what we like. Beautiful residential areas, parks, lakes. We love the theme parks and the other recreational assets. Still only 45 minutes to the Atlantic beaches and 90 minutes to the Gulf beaches. We love Orlando.

Another interstate comparison: Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC?

Charlotte. Id prefer the larger population and accompanying big city amenities - namely, the major airport.

Ann Arbor, MI, or Asheville, NC?

Ann Arbor... Asheville is polluted with hippies. Too much for my tastes.

Albuquerque, NM or El Paso, TX?

Albuquerque, NM or El Paso, TX?

Hmmmmm. They both have serious crime issues now. But Albuquerque is in a prettier location, so that's my pick.

Independence, MO or Council Bluffs, IA?

Tough one. I like Kansas City and Omaha equally. I'll choose Council Bluffs because I like Iowa more.

Iowa City, IA or Tuscaloosa, AL?

Iowa City. I find Iowa overall to be underrated by its peers.

Stowe, VT or Telluride, CO?
