Tough one. Melbourne has better beaches, but Galveston has more charm. I'll go with Galveston, as it has the edge architecturally.

Boise, it strikes me as a smaller but more scenic Denver.

Albany, NY for the longer and snowier winters. It's also closer to where my family lives and to the Adirondacks, Finger Lakes, etc.

I really like Madison, a really well-rounded college town.
