Scottsdale. More family friendly, more prosperous, located in a larger metro with more amenities.

Grosse Ile, MI. I'm not a big fan of the Buffalo area, and by nature of being on the eastern edge of a Great Lake they get tons of lake effect snow whereas Grosse Ile is on the western edge of the same Great Lake so they don't. Grosse Ile is very safe and upscale and has got to be a bit warmer to boot.

Atlanta, Georgia or San Diego, California?

Chicago. I know people who moved home to Michigan because they found Seattle depressing with it's consistent cloud cover and drizzle.

Traverse City, Michigan or Mobile, Alabama?

Miami. Better climate, not so dense, great beaches, and more affordable.
