Brookline. I just like it better in general. I'd rather be in the Boston area than the NYC area.

Detroit, MI or Buffalo, NY?

Hmm these are in the same tier for me in terms of desirability/livability. I like a few of Buffalo's urban core neighborhoods and I like being close to Niagara Falls and not far from Toronto. But Detroit has a bit more international influence and obviously is a larger metro so I would have to select Detroit.

I'm not beating down the door to live in either metro but they're both ok and I'll lean towards Detroit.

Burlington vs Santa Fe

Topeka... Culturally, I'd prefer to live in the Great Plains rather than the Deep South. Topeka is only an hour from Kansas City, MO as well with its major metro amenities.

Riverdale, NY or Bayside, NY?

Bayside, I'd rather be in Queens than the Bronx, and also nearby Flushing has bomb Chinese food.

Highrise in Midtown Manhattan or townhouse in Brooklyn Heights?

Townhouse in Brooklyn Heights. Lower cost & it's not as in the action/crowded as Midtown Manhattan. Although depending on the job the Midtown Manhattan highrise may be more convenient. Plus I like the old school architecture on the Brooklyn Heights townhouses.

Linden, NJ or Niagara Falls, NY?

I've lived in both Atlanta and Dallas/Fort Worth. I'm taking the latter for a lot of reasons. Atlanta wins out on more tolerable summers and a prettier core but D/FW locale (i.e.Central timezone), infrastructure, diversity of economy and people, access to a lot more lakes, and more entertainment venues (casinos, arenas, more sports). I think planning here has been much better and there is more cooperation between the big cities and suburbs than I ever saw in Georgia.

Miami vs. Houston

San Antonio, - both aren't on the poor side but San Antone is cleaner, less worrisome with regard to weather, close to Austin and Houston for weekend trips, and growing faster.
