Niagara Falls. I like the Buffalo/upstate NY area a lot. Just not crazy about living anywhere in the NYC area.

Orlando, FL or Las Vegas, NV?

Las Vegas

Neither in summer. Vegas wins based on being much closer to people I know in AZ, CA, CO, NM, and NV (Reno). Mt. Charleston & Lake Mead. Close to some nice national parks in southern Utah and also not too far from Grand Canyon NP. Don't know anyone in FL or near there. Nearest is in Baton Rouge, LA, but that is still a considerable distance. I don't really like going to theme parks these days. I did when I was younger.

Another FL or NV choice...

Reno, NV or Tallahassee, FL?

Reno - if only for access to Tahoe, Sierras, and all that nearby NorCal has to offer.

Las Cruces, NM or El Centro, CA

Las Cruses. Larger, has more to offer. Nice college town.

Boise, ID or Spokane, WA?

Spokane, I'd rather live in WA and it's closer to my favorite part of ID where nice lakes are at.

Rapid City, SD or Sioux Falls, SD?

Sioux Falls, SD

Has the best economy in South Dakota. Puts me much closer to the Minneapolis area (for occasional visits) where I grew up and still know some people. Also is reasonably close to Omaha and Des Moines. Would be trading the much better scenery of the Rapid City area for urban amenities and less isolated location.

Athens, GA or Madison, WI?

Des Moines. Believe it or not, cooler and less bland than Indy.

State College, Pa., or Harrisburg, Pa.?
