Fort Wayne, IN in a heartbeat. I like the layout of the city and the community there. Toledo is too run down and not in good shape.

Huntsville, AL or Santa Rosa, CA?

Santa Rosa, CA

Near the Bay Area, the coast, much closer to family & friends than Huntsville. Better climate. Have visited the Santa Rosa area a few times and like it.

Scottsdale, AZ or Beaverton, OR ?

Las Vegas, NV

My friends are more likely to visit me in Vegas than Tucson I think. Easier, shorter-non stop flights from there to Bay Area & Monterey County. Driving also manageable from LV. Other than those factors, a tie.

Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA ?
