Lawrence, Kansas vs Morgantown, West Virginia
Lawrence, KS

Very nice city with Univ of Kansas. Just 25 miles from KCMO metro area for additional activities (Country Club Plaza, great BBQ, NFL Chiefs, MLB Royals, etc). Without that edge, this is a much closer call. Just more to do in a 40 mile radius. More than compensates for scenery/outdoors advantage in Morgantown.

Red Bluff, CA or Red Wing, MN ?

Vancouver BC. Has to be in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Also is very international, and has the most skyscrapers per capital in the world.

Prescott. Nicer town for full time residence and slightly cooler climate.

Houston because it is big, international, vibrant, and has things that interest me. (Disney does not interest me.)

Athens, GA vs Gainesville, FL

Athens, GA

Similar college towns & SEC rivals, but Athens is an easy drive to the Atlanta metro area & northern Georgia mountains.

Biloxi, MS or Myrtle Beach, SC ?
