ATL is going to be slapping that weekend fasho. I didn't know BET did that many events around the hip hop awards. Which has me thinking... why isn't the hip hop awards in NYC where it started like Brooklyn or something?

Maybe because Atlanta is a big industry center for it and is a less expensive location for the awards? Plus BET has been doing a ton of filming in Atlanta in recent years due to film/TV incentives from the state of Georgia.

Its actually more events than that going on. Well most of them aren't official BET events, they are mostly promoters using the BET logo.

NY shouldn't be the only city to have an awards show just because they birth Hip Hop

It should be in Atlanta. We didn't birth hip hop but we raised her from an infant to an adult

More census tract/median household income information(predominately Black tracts and median HH income above state figure).

Raleigh(NC median household income is $46,334(09-13 info) and metro area median household income is $61,919(08-12 info): Census Tract 054106 in Wake County, North Carolina

Census Tract 052806 in Wake County, North Carolina

Census Tract 052803 in Wake County, North Carolina

There are a few others that just miss one way or another. Just like Nashville, quite a few tracts in the 20-40% Black range that fit the median household income criteria. Best bet is eastern portion of the metro.

Charlotte(metro median household income is $54,152(08-12 info): Census Tract 005614 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina

Census Tract 001922 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina

Census Tract 006104 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina

Census Tract 005510 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina

Charlotte may have to be continued later, but quite a few tracts just missed(could have added tracts that were 49.5-9% Black) and a lot of tracts that fit the median household criteria that are in that 20-40% Black range. To the North south of I-485 and around north of I-85 and to the East from just south of UNCC appear to be the best bets.

Well that's not the reason why I said really. Where is the SMH emoticon.

Houston is being mentioned. Missouri City, Texas is a Houston suburb.

http://www.city-data.com/city/Missouri-City-Texas.html

43% Black, median household income of $89,380, crime index of 118.1, which is much lower than the nation average. In short, this would be a good place to live.
