For you list lovers, Forbes just came out with its list of the 400 richest Americans. Forbes Welcome
I compiled the list by CSAs (so San Francisco = San Fran/San Jose, Washington = Washington and Baltimore, etc.). I'm not guaranteeing that these are 100% correct, but here's what I've come up with: (note some Americans live abroad so you'll see London, Hong Kong, etc.)

Seattle comes in at #9 for the number of billionaires, but at #3 for their collective net worth. Those are some powerful players!
The other surprising observation is that Chicago comes in at #6 with 15 billionaires, yet is ranked at #13 for their aggregate net worth. Obviously you have surprising figures for the second list given that some ultra-wealthy individuals have far more capital than multiple billionaires, but it's still interesting to see the trends.
I have states, but they don't necessarily correspond to the CSA's, since some CSA's cross state lines. But for what it's worth:

No, I was saying that all of the cities on the list aren't readily recognizable without the state attached, or there's more than one city with the same name.

Actually, most of those cities are quite recognizable without noting their state.
These are cool lists Thank you for taking the time to create them. I was wondering about some of these stats myself.
I think Bentonville/NW Arkansas is the heaviest hitter based on population relative to billionare worth. I've got to imagine being the home of the Walton family comes with some major philanthropy perks.
I think Omaha would be next most impressive because of Mr. Buffet.
Chicago has 15 billionaires, but the state of Illinois has 14 billionaires. I don't get it.
Chicago CSA includes parts of Indiana and Wisconsin, so that billionaire probably lives in one of those two places.
