The counties get larger and larger in land area as you go further west away from the east coast.

NYC five counties combined is smaller in land area than LA county alone, I believe. I think LA County in land area is much more massive than NYC. I am not sure though.

There is no way you can deny places like Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks are not part of the LA area. Same goes for Chino and Corona.

Of the 22 million people in SoCal roughly 20 million of them live in the Los Angeles or San Diego Areas.

It's not New York Levels, but it's pretty darn close and fairly impressive.
How much land areas does all that cover? From Simi Valley to San Diego?

Because I think then, you will have to include Hartford to Philly.

CSA is that including the whole SB and RV counties is too much. the only part that should be included are Western portions of those counties and cities in those parts Everything as far west as Chino hills and all the cities in between(Corona, Ontario, Riverside, Rancho Cuchamanga, Riverside Etc.) and as far East as San Bernandino- Redlands-Banning/Beaumont. Nothing more east than that should count in the L.A. CSA. It's empty out there.
Yea but outside of Palm Springs area, pretty much one lives out there. So including all of SB county doesn't really make that much of a difference.

Same goes for Riverside County. I'd probably cut off the whole Temecula area as that is San Diego Exurbia, but other than that, yea.

I think the palm spring areas should be It's own called "cochella valley" or something to me palm springs is isolated and is It's own region in a way, but sure we can go as far east as palms springs it wouldn't hurt.

I agree with leaving out murrieta and temecula I also consider them as San Diego exurbia. Most of the locals channels there are SD based, few are L.A. based.

LA county is double the land area of Delaware. NYC five "counties" combined are smaller than Los Angeles city limits in land area.
Riverside county is a bit smaller than New Jersey, but there is a whole lotta desert to the east.

Out west counties actually mean something, the east was settled differently.
