For those of you who live in "cold winter" climates, which city would you to for a "vacation" away from the cold? Take into account all factors; cost, travel time, activities you'd like to partake in your vacation, tourist attractions, and of course, the expected weather at your destination. For this poll, let's focus only on the CONTINENTAL U.S. and EXCLUDE Hawaii (since it's too obvious of a choice).

A) Los Angeles

B) San Diego

C) Miami

D) Orlando

E) New Orleans

F) Other city in the continuous U.S. (specify)

If we are talking during winter months Scottsdale would be my choice. It's too cold in SD to actually go swimming and the ocean tems are really chilly in the winter in my opinion. It really depends on what you like though. Golfing, hiking, and ect. are my cup of tea so that's why I chose Scottsdale.

My answer would have been Honolulu/Waikiki Beach, but if we're talking continuous US only, LA.

Miami followed by LA as a very close second.

Miami is number #1 for me because of the beach. Then Scottsdale.

My whole thing on vacation in the winter is to get out on the water . I was really surprised at how cold the pacific can get even in warmer months in southern california , we were in santa barbara last year in the summer and the beaches were gorgeous but the water temp was in the low 60s. I think my first choices would be alot of the caribbean and cancun, but if its in the continental states, probably any of the florida coasts , a smaller city in florida than miami for sure.

I don't like to take warm vacations in the winter because of the shock on return, but if I did I probably would choose New Orleans.

We would not choose any of them but we live where we live because we like all of the seasons.
Outside of that we have no desire to go to any of the places you have listed.

Since Hawaii is excluded then Miami.

I prefer California to Florida in general, but Florida beaches are superior, and Hawaii beaches are superior to all. Been to Hawaii three times and I have family there.

I don't live in a cold climate, but voted Miami for this. Winters are fun in that place. Going oversees to the Caribbean is one of my other favorite options.

It's also a whole more convenient and diverse than what the US has got to offer with Hawaii.
