It's certainly true that we have no inclination to suffer fools nor those with an axe to grind.

Nor do you have to worry 'suffering fools' since people are leaving your city in droves. Soon only the most hardcore Chicago lovers will remain. Shame, it's such a beautiful skyline. Just kidding, I don't expect you are the official ambassador of Chicago so I'll take your comments to mean that you are proud of your city.

I think anyone that visits Chicago with unbiased homer-coastal opinions and no preconceived notions will enjoy it. Btw deep dish is ok, but imo Chicago style thin crust is the way to go :-)

I've said they're 2 different animals. I like NY style more often, but Chicago style is no slack. Its more of a MEAL whereas NY style is good for on the go

To get back on topic...

I can see why people may think Philly is more fast paced. The narrower, more 'northeast' feeling streets downtown can make it feel like stuff is just buzzing around you all the time. There are times when I've felt more "intimidated" in Philly as opposed to Chicago. Maybe not so much because its more "fast paced", but because its easier for me to get lost in Philly haha (the lake is an easy reference for direction in Chicago). Its really a toss up for me. Both cities are fast paced, but at different times and in different areas. If you want hustle and bustle, neither city will disappoint.
