I've said they're 2 different animals. I like NY style more often, but Chicago style is no slack. Its more of a MEAL whereas NY style is good for on the go
Agreed, for me deep dish is a once in awhile thing. Over all I prefer Chi style thin crust over deep dish. Far as Chicago style thin crust and NY style goes, both are AMAZING yet different. Couldn't choose one over the other.
It's certainly true that we have no inclination to suffer fools nor those with an axe to grind.
No axe grinding...just the facts and my opinion...nice lakefront but more like the city of big chip on its shoulders than city of big shoulders. You're in law school, I'm sure you're secure enough to handle other opinions.
I think anyone that visits Chicago with unbiased homer-coastal opinions and no preconceived notions will enjoy it. Btw deep dish is ok, but imo Chicago style thin crust is the way to go :-)
Generally, people back east don't have a negative opinion of Chicago. Chicago's the Jan Brady of big cities, never getting enough attention so it keeps creating some every chance it gets...

I would actually say based on my experience most people back east have a positive opinion of Chicago and generally enjoy visiting
I thought he was making a bad "wind" joke. Not that there's anything wrong with that... (in my best Seinfeld impression)
'twas metaphorical
but not blustery in the way he describes, more of the good hearted, have a good time, and possibly slightly less refined than the east coast (but still very cultured/well educated) angle, for the most part. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it gets old, depends on the mood I'm in. I've found people almost too talkative sometimes, but then you have some real obnoxious folk too... But that's anywhere. If you are looking for bad stuff you are going to find plenty of it in Chicago and Philly.
Right, they do...but people in Chicago sure have a negative opinion of the east...see my post above...
Yeah, there people in Chicago do have negative opinions about the east coast.
But with a city of 2.7 million people, there are also tons of people with positive opinions, excruciatingly positive opinions, and those who just don't give a ****.
And there are tons of people living in Chicago FROM the east coast.

...... what's your point????
Point was a response to a post stating that people in the east have a good or neutral opinion of Chicago...from my experience Chicagoans are actually intimidated by the easterns...now that I'm working in NYC and Philly, it can be embarrassing when Chicagoans come in with that ''we're from Chicago" attitude when no one cares or thinks anything of it...
