Cities: While Texas has more cities, it also comes with the plague of a lot of suburbia. Denver seems more appealing than many places in Texas. I like Dallas but its... well its not a place people go to for fun. Its too much of a business city and the metro-area can be a mess. Most of the suburbs are nice but boring and cookie cutterish or they're just dumpy. I went down to Grand Prairie today, couldn't wait to leave. Felt like an endless auto sales shop. Been to Garland a few times. I don't understand how it has over 200,000 people. Its extremely bland and boring (no offence to my roommate, who is from there.) I prefer the smaller cities in Texas that aren't tied to a larger metro area, like Abilene and San Angelo. I'm gonna go with Texas though because there's more to choose from. Abilene is a lot nicer and funner than pretty much any DFW suburb despite its low population. The metroplex kinda ruins Dallas and Fort Worth a bit with how much it sprawls.

Nature: Colorado. You have the Rockies. Nuff said. Yea Texas is diverse but its pretty easy when you're this big. Much of Texas looks no different from its neighbours. East Texas is pretty much the same as Louisiana, north Texas like Oklahoma. West Texas is the more distinct and interesting part and New Mexico and Arizona do it better anyway.

Culture: Texas has its own distinct identity and its separate from its urban centres as well. Texas has lots of great food and music that comes from it. Colorado has John Denver, but Texas has George Strait, Willie Nelson, George Jones list goes on. Tex-Mex is great, too.

Weather: Colorado. Drier weather, more pronounced seasons, more snow. Skiiers paradise. Texas is oppressively hot. Its hotter than the states east of it and more humid than the states west, so it is hell in Summer. Personally, I couldn't live in the part of Texas thats even hotter and less cold than where I'm at.

Economy: Both have the same unemployment rate but Colorado has a higher minimum wage. Though it does have state income tax. I'd pick Colorado for higher wages.

Progressiveness: Colorado.. Duh. We still got plenty of idiots walking around here flying the confederate flag, talking about how being gay is a sin. Its a solidly Republican state. Don't even bring up Austin or "the other cities" because besides Austin, I don't find the cities to be that liberal. More than rural areas, sure, but there's still lots of people in the city who hold typical conservative views as well. Pick a random person from Dallas or Houston then a random person from Denver and the one from Texas is more likely to be pro-life than the one from Denver. I've never met so many pro-life gay people until I moved to Texas lol.

You don't know this. Smoking weed in public in CO is still illegal and can still get you arrested just like any other state in the Union.

Colorado. I've lived in Texas most of my life, but I've spent a lot of time in Colorado. For me, there's no comparison.
TX - cities (although I personally like Denver more than any Texas city)
CO - nature
TX - culture
CO - weather
CO - economy
CO - progressiveness

Texas is a powerhouse...it has a coast, I also like the Big Bend area.

Texas for everything (except liberal attitudes). Quite an easy decision.

Youre comparing a state with 27 million people to one with just over 5 million. Its simply not a good comparison.
That's assuming "liberal atmosphere" is a good thing. If you call regulating and taxing businesses out of business and creating a huge socialist welfare state a good thing....and it's not.

Colorado no question!

One of my friends who lived in Ft.Worth moved to Denver over a year ago and he loves trolling his friends on FB with all the pics of the great things he's doing in CO that Texans can only dream about.

Texas is in a little bubble of it's own and most people outside of Texas do not like Texas. I know tons of people who turned down jobs that required them to relocate and those that did relocate due to work, was gone after 2-3 yrs because they couldn't stomach the inferior quality of life Texas has to offer.

As someone else stated Texas is really nothing but a big suburb because it's cities doesn't have an identify like other states. Well outside of cowboy boots, hats, and horses but outside of that Texas offers nothing. The food is disgraceful, I couldn't believe the lack of good tasting food when I moved there and I only have a handful of restaurants I frequent because the majority of restaurants in Dallas are bland which is also why highly experienced chiefs do not stay in Dallas long. As people tend to flock to establishments that they are friends with the owners instead of patronizing establishments that actually offer great cuisine.

The shopping also sucks because a lot of buyers don't even bother sending a lot of inventory to Texas stores because Texas is not a fashion forward state. They've been rocking cowboy boots and hats for decades and will continue, so I mostly do my shopping on-line and with stores in other states like Cali & NY.

And contrary to popular belief the bar b que in Dallas sucks, I've been to all the top bar b que places and they all are bland and tasteless. Which is another thing I was shocked to discover and bottom line I think the majority of Texans really don't know anything outside of Texas therefor they are extremely bias and can't fathom any other state being better but Texas is no competition for any states unless it's the deep South as I certainly would prefer to live in Texas as opposed to Louisiana, Mississippi, etc.

Denver>>>>>>>>>>Any Texas City.

Nature: Colorado by far

Weather: Depends on what you like...Summer is hell in Texas...especially Austin and Houston!!! I feel like Colorado is more mild tho...Colorado gets alot more snow tho.

Economy: Texas. The state's booming...

Progressiveness: Again, Colorado by far.

Texas and bigger and whatnot, but I would rather live in colorado then Texas. Like I and many others above said, I'd choose Denver over any Texas city.
