Mod cut: Quoted post has been deleted.

I would not call it the anchor of the Texas Metros. Houston and DFW share power and influence over the rest of the state. Houston has more influence on South and Southeast Texas, DFW has more influence on Central, North, and West Texas.

the Great Lakes is the Third Coast, the Gulf Coast can be the Fourth Coast if they have to be something or else just GC will do.

I agree with you.

Well Houston is part of the gulf coast but at the same time it's part of the Texas Triangle.

The Great Lakes is the Third Coast, but the Gulf Region can have it. I would rather call the Great Lakes the Fresh Coast. It's a term I head that I like more.

So there is a dispute between what is the 3rd coast? Weird.. I didn't realize anyone considered the shoreline of a lake to be a "coast".

Why is that weird? I'm from Houston. To anyone in our region the Gulf Coast has always been the third coast. Never once (until earlier today) have I heard someone try to make the claim that the Great Lakes are a third coast.
My buddy's property is on the west side of a neighborhood lake. I guess we'll have to start calling his property West Coast, while throwing up Tupac W finger signs, and what not..
