I'm a Haitian who's lived in South Florida, and I can attest that South Florida is more Southern than South Texas. Even West Indian Blacks who have been raised in South Florida have taken on Black-American Southern accents and vernacular. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to take a trip to any predominantly Black and or West-Indian neighborhood from Riviera Beach, all the way down to Florida City. There is a hybrid West-Indian/Black-American sub-culture that is abundant in South Florida. There's even Floribbean cuisine, which is a fusion of Caribbean and Southern styles of food.

Thats was my point."Out of sight, out of mind",Those areas are not prominent so they are pretty much ignored.
But as Happiness said earlier,"everybody knows A.Americans and Carib/Latin blacks dont like easch other"therefore "West Indian Blacks who have been raised in South Florida have taken on Black-American Southern accents and vernacular."therefore that just cant be true

Agreed. Folks should really take a trip to some of these neighborhoods. They seem to have nary an ideal of these sub-groups and their existence in South Florida. Uncle Luke is part Jamaican and part Bahamian, Trina is part Dominican, you'd never know this if you heard them speak. They speak like Southern Black Americans. Southern Black culture is alive in well, even in Haitian neighborhoods.

See I never had any idea she was not just from 2 African American parents because she is straight up country Southern accent and all. I mentioned her and Luther Campell as examples.Even the old body multicolored cars with the huge tires and rims still rolling around in Miami.

Yeah I brought that up earlier. Donks. That is huge in Miami and it's huge in Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. But somehow the culture of Florida's Blacks isn't Southern? LOL.

I've always found the Black 'urban' culture in Miami and Jacksonville--which is pretty Southern by anybody's standard--to be similar. Locs, grills, rims, etc.
