I disagree. Maryland, Baltimore and DC is not completely southern or outright southern, but it is also not Northeastern either. The eastern shore of Maryland is definitely southern. In all, the Baltimore/DC/MD area has its own unique transitional vibe with both northern and southern traits.

That's a common sentiment although a bit debatable, but that has nothing to do with your original statement that "None of Maryland is the south, not even the eastern shore." DC isn't in Maryland and there's a lot of Maryland outside of Baltimore, which you probably didn't even see.
