California would probably look more like Virginia to Maine if it were broken out into similar sized areas.

Doesn't shock me at all either. Wouldn't even shock me if it was a bit lower on the list.

Florida ranked 46th, not surprised, makes sense why my high school decided to pass a good chunk of my graduating class to not look bad. (from 30%-70%)

Cali gets masses of third world immigrants, who tend to have lower educational levels.

And it's a bit silly because the ACT/SAT are not comparable, and some states require SAT/ACT and other don't (meaning that states which require them will have lower ranks because everyone has to take it, not just the university-bound people).

So State A will have 40% of high school students taking SAT and State B will have 100% of students. There's almost no way that State B will look better than State A, because State B is testing everyone, and State A only the top students. Even if you compared Mississippi and Massachusetts, Mississippi could probably "win" under these terms.

Haha are you kidding me? CA borders the third world, houses 10 million foreign born residents( with a smile no less) most of whom are undereducated, yet still manages to create the most dynamic economy in the country?

What's wrong with the rest of you?

lol
