Miami-The beaches there are nice, but a bit too crowded in my opinion. I know that most will disagree with this.
Orlando-The beaches here are astonishing, and they are a bit more designed for tourism than the ones in Miami are (despite there being fewer people heading to these ones).
Baltimore-Meh. I wasn't that impressed by the beaches here.
New York City-The beaches here are a bit underrated if anything. I rarely hear anybody talk about how beautiful they are.
Boston-Average.
Virginia Beach-After heading out to it, it made me not want to leave at all. They aren't overly crowded whatsoever.
Maybe you're talking about Daytona or the Palm Bay area? I imagine a general consensus is going to be that Florida has the best beaches on the East Coast, followed perhaps by the Outer Banks of NC. You might be surprised to know that Virginians pretty much don't do VA Beach. They go to North or South Carolina. VA Beach is really for NY'ers, Pennsylvanians and New Jerseyans. Granted, VA Beach has gotten loads better than it used to be, don't be fooled by the Palm Trees.
Pretty much what I was going to say. I don't mind crowdedness. Actually, one thing I love about Miami is the crowds. I think the type of crowd is more important than the size sometimes. And that goes for anything, not just beaches.

When you say Baltimore, are you actually talking about Ocean City, MD?
