What? You're talking about the A's, the team with the third most championships in all of baseball (with five of those actually happening in Oakland)? While they haven't won a pennant in 27 years, they've won their division as recently as four years ago. They're also well known for the book and film
Moneyball. There are plenty of other teams that a baseball junkie would overlook before the A's (the Padres, Rockies, Rays, Mariners, Nationals and Astros, for starters).
