Las Vegas and Charlotte are also impressive in that aspect of only having one primary airport and being ahead of cities like Toronto etc. Both are less than 3 million metros.
I knew Vegas was gonna be high. It's Vegas! Sometimes it's less about the size of a city/metro and more about how big of a tourist destination it is. So many people from all around the world visit Vegas every year.

Yeah....for the vast majority of us, driving there is not a reasonable option!
It's interesting that Rockford is included as a Chicago airport, but General Mitchell is not even though a lot more Chicago area residents use the latter than the former.

The same could be said of Sacramento(SMF) which is used by tens of thousands from Stockton and the North Bay Area instead of SFO, OAK and SJC

Sure, it's similar. I don't think the list cited in the link had a "lesser" airport in place of a larger one that was closer to the major city in its SF calculations. I think SFO, OAK and SJC are actually more central to the Bay Area overall than SMF, aren't they?

General Mitchell is central to Chicagoland? I wasnt aware.

Compared to Rockford, yea! Chicago also weights towards its north side and northern suburbs quite a bit. I think it probably makes more sense to not include Rockford or General Mitchell altogether, but it's and odd choice to include Rockford over General Mitchell or Gary/International (with its ridership numbers of about 0, but at least in the area).
If they didn't include Rockford or General Mitchell, the numbers for Chicago dip from 99,277,247 to about 200,000 less or ~99,077,247 which is probably more sensible.
Don't you always say how DC posters conveniently include Baltimore into the MSA/CSA when it only benefits their numbers.... The BWI numbers are inflated if you're only giving the Baltimore MSA credit because it includes DC MSA.
Otoh, the airport calls itself 'Chicago Rockford' Intl Airport.
