Out of these cities I've only really experienced the D.C. and Chicago gay areas. While both are enjoyable I much prefer Boystown/Lakeview over Dupont or Shaw.
I'll Play. This is not a bad list, but it is not a great one. Generally increased tolerance has decreased the need for gay neighborhoods and gay marriage has meant a kinda flight to the suburbs and some of the previously gay neighborhoods have fallen victim to extreme gentrification, but...
Here's my top ten post 2015 list of gayborhoods in North America.
1. The Village (Montreal). Rue St. Catherine is the gayest street in the world
2. Tie. Boystown, Chicago, Zona Rosa, Mexico City
4. West Hollywood (still holding up after all these years)
5. Chelsea, Manhattan (It's diffuse, but still a lot of stuff)
6. Church and Younge, Toronto - while much of the action has moved to Queen Street, West, this is still a premier gay neighborhood
7. North Beach, Fort Lauderdale - where South Beach, Miami, went - kinda suburban, kinda annoying but a lot of gay venues
8. Oaklawn, Dallas - a very high concentration of bars and restaurants
9. Castro, SF - a shadow of its former self, never recovered form the decimation of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and now gentrified into expensive stroller land, but hints of its former glory
10. French Quarter, NOLA
Honorable mentions:
Montrose, Houston
Du Pont Circle, DC
Gayborhood, Philadelphia
Midtown, Atlanta
East Village, Manhattan
Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Capitol Hill, Seattle
Silverlake, L.A.
Andersonville, Chicago
I'm not sure it's the best but there is a reason Atlanta is one of the gay meccas of the southeast. Midtown is a great neighborhood with gay and straight alike.
Interestingly enough, Andersonville/Edgewater now has more gay residents than Boystown/Lakeview. The gay bars in Boystown have doubled down on the gay identity though whereas many of the Andersonville bars are a lot more mixed gay and straight.

It is not the best like you wrote. It is a lot of fun!

Good list overall... but I'm surprised you left out Hillcrest in San Diego. It definitely beats out a place like Silverlake. I also think you have Capitol Hill underrated and Oaklawn overrated. Dallas does have a pretty good scene especially with clubs and such but it's pretty spread out. To me the walkability factor is big.
